ROBBERY INCIDENT
Suspect #1 Blk Male, 22 yrs, five foot, six inches, dark skin, med height, small build. He was wearing brown pants, Black Hooded sweatshirt, brown knit Cap.
Suspect #2 Blk Male, 24 yrs, dark skin, six foot, large build, wearing a knit winter hat.
Suspect #3 Blk male, 22yrs, approx. six foot, medium build, dark colored jacket.
The victims wallet was recovered the following day in the common driveway near MacDade Blvd. The cash was missing.
Caution: These suspects should be considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone having information regarding this crime or the suspects should immediately contact Yeadon Police Department at 610-623-1500 or calling 911. All information will be handled in a confidential manner.

COMMUNITY ALERT - ROBBERY INCIDENT
On December 4th 2009 at approximately 11:20p.m, a 17-year-old juvenile male was walking northbound on Church Lane from the Tri-Star Store located at Church Lane & Chester Avenue. The victim was walking to his home in the 800 block of Yeadon Avenue. The victim turned onto Parmley Avenue, heading towards Yeadon Avenue, when he noticed a vehicle described as a Dodge Caravan type vehicle drive very slow pass him. When the victim turned onto the 800 block of Yeadon Avenue, the vehicle slowed and stopped near him. The victim then observed two (2) males quickly exiting the van. He also noticed a Black Female seated in the right front passenger seat of the vehicle. Both males immediately approached the victim and demanded his money. One of the suspects displayed a dark colored handgun. The victim s cell phone was stolen and the males jumped back into the van and drove northbound on Yeadon Avenue towards Parmley Avenue.
Suspect # 1 Description: (Driver) Blk/Male, 19-20 years, med. height, 185 lbs, Dark skin, mustache with beard, husky build, wearing a black knit hat, black Dickie type cargo pants and black timber land boots. Armed with a handgun.
Suspect #2 Description: Blk/Male, 17-18 years, med. height, 165 lbs, Brown Skin, Lt mustache w/Lt. Beard, Blk hair, black hoody and knit cap, black leather jacket w/flaps on the breast pockets, blue jeans and black canvass with white rubber soled shoes.
Suspect s Vehicle: Possibly a 1996 Dodge Caravan, Beige or Champagne in color with a black molding stripe around van. Vehicle had a passenger side sliding door. The body of the vehicle was in poor shape. The vehicle had no hubcaps or wheel covers.
The suspects should be considered to be armed and dangerous.

COMMUNITY ALERT - ROBBERY INCIDENT
The female victim, a 16 year old school student was walking east bound on Providence Road to the Yeadon Cypress Street Campus. While walking in the area of the 500 block of Industrial Drive, an unknown black male armed with a handgun grabbed her from behind and placed his arm around her neck and demanded her iPod and other personal possessions.
The victim struggled with the suspect after he grabbed her iPod and other personal belongings. After the brief struggle, the suspect fled on foot towards Elder Avenue. The victim immediately ran towards Baily Road, where she flagged down a passing motorist who drove he to the police station. The suspect is described as a young black male wearing tan colored pants, a dark colored jacket, black sneakers, along with a bandanna covering a portion of his face.
Police responded to the area and conducted an extensive search but was unable to locate a suspect fitting the description. The William Penn School District was immediately notified of the incident. The student was not injured and her mother was notified of the incident and responded to the police department. The Investigation is ongoing.

Community Alert - Burglary Incidents
The locations of the incidents were in the 100 block of Lincoln Avenue and the Unit and 100 block of E. Providence Road. There is no description of the suspect(s).
The investigation is ongoing. Patrol Units have been increased in the area.
The Police Department has issued the following safety precautions:
- Make sure all entry doors are locked, along with ground level and first floor windows.
- If you have an alarm system, please use it.
- Please use outside lighting around your home, such as motion activated light sensors.
- Most Important - Immediately call 911 for any suspicious activity.
Police Update: On September 30th 2009, Yeadon Police arrested a 20 year old male from Darby Borough for the recent rash of burglary incidents. .... Good News....

The Police Department will check your home while you’re away on vacation. This is part of the Police Department’s Community Policing Program. Any vehicle, not bearing a current registration plate and/or inspection sticker, parked either on the highway or private property is considered an abandoned vehicle. Any vehicle found in violation, will be tagged, towed and the owner shall be responsible for any towing/storage charges and fines resulting from police removal of these vehicles.
TRAFFIC SAFETY & ENFORCEMNT
All residents are asked to obey all traffic laws while operating your vehicle throughout the borough. The safety of all our residents is the department’s primary goal. The Police Department will continue to aggressively enforce all motor vehicle violations. Most violations will result in a fine & costs that will exceed one hundred dollars. Along with the fine and court costs, all violators risk the possibility of increased insurance costs and suspension of your driving privileges. Please Drive Safely & Buckle Up!

An Animal Control Officer services the borough. All animal complaints can be directed to the animal control officer by calling “911”. All dogs must have a current license and must be on a leach at all times.

All vehicles are prohibited from parking on the dates and times indicated throughout the community. Borough Ordinance 660.03 prohibits juveniles less than eighteen (18) years of age from being on any borough street during specific hours. Sunday thru Thursday - Curfew starts at 10:00p.m. Friday & Saturday – Curfew starts at 10:30 p.m.
ALCOHOL BEVERAGES
Borough Ordinance prohibits the consumption of alcoholic beverages in public places anywhere within the borough

Parking of commercial vehicles is prohibited on all borough streets.

Community Alert - Vehicle Break Ins
During the week of June 23rd 2008, Yeadon Police Department responded to several incidents of vehicle break ins. There were two incidents reported in the common driveway of the 700 and 800 Block of West Cobbs Creek Parkway. A third incident was reported in the 900 block of Church Lane. The suspect(s) are gaining entrance by breaking a side window and stealing items from the interior of the vehicle. In some cases, they are removing GPS devices or the vehicle radio or CD system. The incidents have occured between late evening and early morning hours.
Safety Tips - Please attempt to park your vehicle in a well illuminated area or have motion senor lights in the rear of your driveway to help prevent a theft. Please call 911 if you see or hear anything suspicious.
Police have increased patrols throughout the community.

DEPARTMENT'S COMMUNITY BIKE PATROLS
The bike patrols will continue throughout the spring and summer months. The bike patrol Officers will be assigned to specific problem areas throughout the community.
We ask all residents to immediately call 911 on any suspicious activity. The Bike officers will continue to aggressively patrol the community addressing quality of life issues along with serious crime problems.
If there is a specific area in the community that you feel might need additional police patrols, just call the Chief of Police regarding the issues and we will surely provide additional patrols in the area.
