Community Alert - Burglary Incidents

On Wednesday, September 23, 2009, officers responded to a reported Burglary discovered and two other attempted break ins in the west end of the community. The investigation reveals the Burglary and Burglary Attempts occurred during the early morning hours, while residents were sleeping.

The locations of the incidents were in the 100 block of Lincoln Avenue and the Unit and 100 block of E. Providence Road. There is no description of the suspect(s).
The investigation is ongoing. Patrol Units have been increased in the area.

The Police Department has issued the following safety precautions:


  • Make sure all entry doors are locked, along with ground level and first floor windows.
  • If you have an alarm system, please use it.
  • Please use outside lighting around your home, such as motion activated light sensors.
  • Most Important - Immediately call 911 for any suspicious activity.

Police Update: On September 30th 2009, Yeadon Police arrested a 20 year old male from Darby Borough for the recent rash of burglary incidents. .... Good News....

Attempted Home Invasion September 17, 2009

The Yeadon Police Dept. is investigating the attempted home invasion/robbery of an individual in the 600 block of Yeadon Avenue on September 17, 2009 at8:40am. The victim was leaving his residence with his young daughter and was immediately confronted by two male suspects. One suspect was armed with a semi-auto hand gun. They attempted to order him back into the residence. As a result of the confrontation, neighbors in the area apparently scared the two suspects, who fled with the victim's keys, in a newer model black Chev. Monte Carlo SS which fled southbound on Yeadon Avenue towards Rundale Avenue. Both male suspects are in their mid. 20's medium complexion, 5'5 to 5'9, wearing dark clothing. Anyone with information concerning the suspects or the vehicle is asked to contact Yeadon Police Dept. Detective Division at 610-623-1500.
