Utilize outside lighting, it’s your best deterrent to criminals. All entrance ways and secluded areas around your home should be well lit.

YEADON COMMUNITY PARK
The Yeadon Community Park is opened to all borough residents. It’s a beautiful Community Park, so take time out and enjoy it. The park will be patrolled by the Police Department’s Bicycle Patrol.
Motorized Vehicles are prohibited in the park!
No Dogs are permitted in the park!
Alcohol Beverages are prohibited in the park!
ABANDONED VEHICLES
Any vehicle, not bearing a current registration plate and/or inspection sticker, parked either on the highway or private property is considered an abandoned vehicle. Any vehicle found in violation, will be tagged, towed and the owner shall be responsible for any towing/storage charges and fines resulting from police removal of these vehicles.
TRAFFIC SAFETY & ENFORCEMNT
All residents are asked to obey all traffic laws while operating your vehicle throughout the borough. The safety of all our residents is the department’s primary goal. The Police Department will continue to aggressively enforce all motor vehicle violations. Most violations will result in a fine & costs that will exceed one hundred dollars. Along with the fine and court costs, all violators risk the possibility of increased insurance costs and suspension of your driving privileges. Please Drive Safely & Buckle Up!
ANIMAL COMPLAINTS
An Animal Control Officer services the borough. All animal complaints can be directed to the animal control officer by calling “911”. All dogs must have a current license and must be on a leach at all times.
STREET SWEEPING
Residents are reminded that street sweeping is now year round. The effort is to promote cleaner streets in our community. All vehicles are prohibited from parking on the dates and times indicated throughout the community. The Police Department would like to thank all residents who promptly move their vehicles, enabling the highway department to clean the streets.
CURFEW ORINANCE
Borough Ordinance 660.03 prohibits juveniles less than eighteen (18) years of age from being on any borough street during specific hours. Sunday thru Thursday - Curfew starts at 10:00p.m. Friday & Saturday – Curfew starts at 10:30 p.m.
ALCOHOL BEVERAGES
Borough Ordinance prohibits the consumption of alcoholic beverages in public places anywhere within the borough
NOISE ORDINANCE
The Borough has an ordinance that regulates and prohibits excessive and loud noise disturbances throughout the borough.
COMMERCIAL VEHILCES
Parking of commercial vehicles is prohibited on all borough streets.
Remember, this is your Police Department and Community. Community involvement is the key to our success. Our main goal is that everyone helps to prevent crime and make crime more difficult than it’s worth. This will make everyone’s chance of becoming a crime victim less likely.

Residents are urged to immediately call “911” on all suspicious incidents. If it arouses your suspicion, trust your judgment and call “911”. Never feel your complaint doesn’t warrant a call to “911”.

TOWN WATCH
Dedicated Borough Residents volunteer their time to this great organization. These Town Watch Members patrol our community and provide extra eyes and ears for the community and police department. New members are needed.
CRIME PROOFING YOUR HOME
Your house number should be clearly visible from the street, both day and night time. This will assist all emergency personnel in locating your residence.
Utilize outside lighting, it’s your best deterrent to criminals. All entrance ways and secluded areas around your home should be well lit.
Keep all shrubs, trees and bushes around entranceways and windows well trimmed.
Don’t leave keys in mailboxes, under doormats, over the door or in some other likely place.
Always keep your doors and windows locked and update your doors with security dead bolt locks. The Police are always available to assist you with a free home security survey and provide you with valuable information and recommendations. This service is free… Any resident interested in this free home security survey or just some valuable information concerning crime prevention measures for your home and family should contact Chief Donald Molineux; Yeadon Police Department at 610-623-1500.
Once again, residents are urged to get involved in their community. The main concept is to be a good neighbor, and look out for your neighbor’s property and in turn, your neighbor will watch out for yours. But most important call your police department when you see or hear anything suspicious.

FRAUDELENT HOME REPAIRS……………
Remember spring and summer months are the times when the notorious scam artist target communities. Be aware and cautious of any fly by night contractors who attempts to point out repair problems at your home. It you should need repairs to your home; you should contact several reputable contractors and get estimates before you hand over any money or deposit. Contact the Yeadon Code Department to verify those contractors have a valid permit and license to do the work that is proposed. Don’t leave anyone in your home until you verify the identity of the contractor or employee. If you are suspicious call “911”. Its better to be safe than sorry!
VACATION – HOME SECURITY CHECKS
The Police Department will check your home while you’re away on vacation. This is part of the Police Department’s Community Policing Program. Prior to going away, call the police department; Monday - Friday 8:30a.m. – 4:30p.m. at telephone 610-623-1500 and advise the department of your vacation plans.
Follow these safety recommendations:
Make sure your house looks occupied
Place some interior lights on timers
Make sure your outside motion detection lights are on
Notify your alarm company and test your alarm
Arrange for call forwarding of your telephone calls
Stop newspaper delivery
